Amanda is wonderful with my son, but I've had poor experiences with medication refills and the staff.

We had an issue where my son's prescription was not available at our local pharmacy and it couldn't be transferred without the doctor sending a new Rx to a pharmacy location that had it in stock. I called the office at 10:00 am and left a message stating that it was urgent as my son was out of his medication. I didn't get a response by 6pm so I called back.

The office staff said it takes 3-5 days to get a refill and I said that didn't really work as my son is out. I then asked if there was any way to directly speak with our provider and the staff member asked if I meant the doctor's personal number. I said sure, and then they said they don't give that out but they would try to get the doctor to send the Rx in before they leave.

That didn't happen and the next day we received a text from the doctor "My staff filled me in on the multiple phone calls as well as the request at 7 PM last night for my personal contact information. With that, the prevent a situation like this in the future, all scripts moving forward will be on printed and handed to you on prescription paper that way if the pharmacy is out of meds, you can just bring the script the the next pharmacy of your choice."

It seems obvious that the staff embellished the details to the doctor as that is a misrepresentation of what happened.

Fast forward a month and I called the office for a refill on Tuesday, the office called back after on Tuesday but we couldn't answer. So, I called back on Wednesday to keep from upsetting them. They texted Thursday to say the Rx could be picked up. I picked up the paper script and our normal pharmacy was once again out of stock, so I went to another pharmacy that had it and provided the paper script.

I went back to the pharmacy 2 hours later to pick up the medicine and the pharmacist said they couldn't fill that Rx from a paper script due to the laws in SC and that the provider should have known that. By the time the pharmacy got to the script the doctor's office was closed and doesn't reopen until Monday. So now we are stuck without medication and we are done with this provider.

I have had the exact same issues with getting in contact with support staff as others who posted reviews. I guess this is a consistent issue. I work for a doctors office and understand how busy it can be but we contact all patients back within 24 hours. It's unprofessional and makes you feel like they really don't care about you as a person but only care for the cash payment being made. This is why I am leaving this practice. Note to staff if you call patients back it would cut down on the messages you receive as your patient won't be wondering if you forgot about them. Btw they for got to tell Kenny provider left and my appointment needed to be moved.

Wanted to share my experience with Seaside Family Medicine yesterday….

I was involved in an accident and needed to see a physician to get a referral for an MRI. I went to Seaside and waited 30 minutes to be taken into a room (ironically their policy is 5 minutes late and you’re canceled) I then had my “blood pressure” taken, and the woman struggled to get the stethoscope to even go under the sleeve so didn’t even read it out loud or record it. (I watched). The (PA I believe?) then came in addressed my concerns did a “full body” exam to see if I “lost strength” and I expressed that my
Lower back is in tremendous pain. She advised me to “take my ibuprofen more consistently” and I said ultimately I am here to get a referral for an MRI. She then tells me “ohhh I don’t know if they’re going to do that.” I asked “WHO? WHO is they?” She said she would need to speak with her supervisor to see if they will refer for an mri because it’s expensive.
I said expensive for WHO she then says something along the lines of “well it’s expensive so I’m not sure that’s what they’ll want.”
At this point I am feeling like a business transaction. I have insurance… I am THE LEAST BIT concerned about the cost so why is she? Now I’m just SO beyond confused at what is happening in this office. She then asks me as she’s flipping through the paper work “what was your blood pressure?” And I said I don’t know? She goes hmm…. then tells me hang tight she’ll go speak to (whomever.)
Enters another woman with a cart, laptop and sits down. Says I’m sorry you’re not feeling good. I said ha, yea and she proceeds to say “so I hear you’re postpartum and you’re dealing with (cdh? Or something)”
Now I’m REALLY CONFUSED. I said huh? Excuse me? She then says “you’re (name) right?” I said no……. She then proceeds to say oh gosh I’m in the wrong room aren’t it. 🤯
Again this is starting to all feel like a scam like all of this certainly cannot be real.
My original (PA?) comes back to then say she will “put that I am requesting an mri” but it’s up to (xyz) and then asks me at the end if I’m on birth control to which I stated NO. She then asks me “well are your tubes tied?” I said NO. She then starts laughing like a smirky laugh for a good 2 minutes. I’m sitting there missing the memo on what’s funny? She then tells me I should be on birth control.
End of visit.
I have never in my life experienced such a STRANGE unprofessional and unorganized medical visit in my life.

Dr Erica Fusco is amazing at what she does, although the staff is rude and getting in contact with your provider is near impossible. They got rid of their patient portal because they “couldn’t handle the amount of emails they received.” If you need mental health care, absolutely go somewhere else. Would not recommend.

I have only been using this practice for a month, but I am impressed with things so far. Dr. Amanda has been nothing but kind, helpful and accurate. She is communicative and supportive of her patients preferences and gives helpful options. Her communication via email is so prompt and helpful and I've not had an issue scheduling w/ her so far. I'm certainly hoping Seaside continues to be a good fit for our family and am thankful to have found such a caring and professional pediatric provider as well.

Seaside Family Medicine is AMAZING. I am so happy to have found this practice. They have a gorgeous office! I don't have health insurance, so I was able to sign up for their membership for $70 a month and get the care I need. I went in today and was greeted in such a friendly way by the front office manager. I immediately knew I was in the right place and felt very comfortable. The nurse was also so sweet, and then my visit with Katie Beth was fantastic. She was awesome and took time to listen to me and help me with my female issue. She gave me a solution instead of dismissing me like other Doctors have in the past. I am so excited to go back for anything else that comes up with my health, and happy to have this membership for the year. Not to mention, after my appointment I received a personal follow up to make sure I was happy. I've never been to a place that is this personable and cares this much about their patients. I would recommend this family medicine practice to anyone!

Dr. Amanda is wonderful. She is so efficient and on top of things. My son has a list of complex trial and error issues with his autism, ADHD and OCD but she made us feel in control of it all. We will miss this practice as we moved states.
