So today my bonus daughter had an appointment for a medication refill as well as a school physical. She got accepted into a school requiring a physical because it's residential. Once she got checked in to her appointment, she was informed that her previous PCM (Dr. Terry) had since retired and she was scheduled with a Mollie Carter. Never once has she had any issues from this office because she adored her doctor. She has ADHD and due to her family history has never been a fan of medications so she only takes the medicine when currently enrolled in school. She's been routinely on medication and had no issue based on the fact that her medication lasts way over her prescription. Well today she was informed the new provider isn't a fan and refuses to prescribe the medications. So basically she's DENIED her regular treatment from a reputable provider and based her decision off of her own personal beliefs. She was also forced to take a EKG based on her being prescribed medication for ADHD. She also had a medical condition that the new provider had no knowledge of whatsoever. Mollie proceeded to ask her questions about her vision and make her answer them in front of other patients during the eye exam. She was born with Third Nerve Palsy. Bonus Daughter has never been comfortable with her physical situation regardless of multiple surgeries in which have been failed or.botched and so it was a trigger when being humiliated in public today. SHE REPEATEDLY THREATENED TO FAIL HER EXAM OVER HER EYE PROBLEMS! She also enquired about an IUD that was taken out immediately after it was inserted due to adverse reactions. So she had never even attempted to read her chart prior to making her wait over an hour in the exam room. She now has Nexplanon and has for months and had this provider taken the time to look at her chart she would clearly have known this. She also asked in a condescending tone about her weight and how she watched her food intake. If you think it's appropriate to ask an 18 year old 5'3" about her weight (118lb) and ask if she is considering what meals she consumes then how exactly does that help anyone when the world.is fighting obesity. She then forced her into an EKG which was normal as well as asking if she needed her to test her for STDs. She just had an exam with her OB this summer. This practice is ridiculous and while one provider may have made it worth the hassle, now that she's retired you clearly get no consideration or care. Also when reading recent reviews from other patients... I'd just truly love to k lw how this place stays in business while overcharging insurance with ridiculous testing while still denying their patients with the care that they are used to. Do better.

I just had my first visit today to get established as a new patient. I am more than impressed with the care I received. The front desk staff was kind and smiling. I did not have to wait to be seen for my scheduled appointment. The nurse practitioner Justine took a very thorough history and performed a thorough exam and ordered annual tests to get me started as a patient. I appreciate the patience and kindness of all the staff including the nursing assistant, the nurse who did my EKG, and the nurse who drew blood. From start to finish, I feel much trust in my choice to come here to start care. A big thanks to everyone who took care of me today.

UPDATE: 5 years a patient, and this is still the best Primary Care practice in the Midlands. The staff is always friendly and accessible.

A few years ago, the doctor I had been seeing since the late 90's, Dr. Stacy Gajewski, joined this practice, and Dr. Fulcher was very gracious and understanding about me wanting to start seeing her. She had seen me, my kids, and other family over the years, so she had familiarity that greatly benefited the planning of my medical care. She is the most caring, attentive, and knowledgeable doctor I know. She makes great use of the MyChart system for communication and is very willing to do telehealth if I can't get there. I live in Kershaw, which is almost an hour and a half away, but Dr. Stacy is worth every single minute and every single gallon of gas. And did I mention she has a great sense of humor? She really is all that!!

My first visit to this practice was the best experience I've ever had in a doctor's office. Dr. Fulcher took his time, was very thorough, and made me feel extremely comfortable. His nurse, Wendy, was so friendly and caring. My only regret is that I didn't leave my previous practice sooner!

From the front desk, to the back room assistants, check out, and beyond, the staff here are so courteous, and absolutely make you feel welcome and appreciated. They answer all questions and have been nothing short of genuine in every encounter. I used to see Dr. Brown at her previous location, and when I found out she was here, I was absolutely thrilled! I was so disappointed with the doctor I saw after she left, but the experience at this office vs the last one, I am so glad she came here because it really is one of the best offices I have ever been to. She is an amazing doctor and a wonderful human being! She is caring and compassionate, and she really takes the time to get to know you as a patient and as a person. I never leave her office feeling like I wasn’t seen or heard, she is extremely thorough. Her knowledge and experience are like a breath of fresh air, and she is so pleasant to be around. I can’t say enough good things about this office! You will not leave here unsatisfied! There might be a slight wait, but in this case, the wait is well worth it! Love, love, love Dr. Brown and this entire practice!

I’m a patient of Dr Stacey… I just came back from out the country, and I wasn’t feeling well, so I called the office to schedule and appointment. Well the cold blood person that answered the phone told me that anything was available until next week. I perfectly knew that, but also I know that doctors can take this cases in between patients….. I had another primary dr. Before, and they always took me in when I need it….. I guess I have to go back to my old dr.

I have been with my doctor for almost 10 years, through 3 office changes, but today I walked out and will not be back. I was 8 minutes late to my appointment today and was told they had to “reschedule” because I was late. After the initial shock wore off, I asked about the typical 10-15 minute grace period that exists almost everywhere and the woman at the front desk said “yes, but not for physicals”. Seriously? Well how was I supposed to know that? It’s not as if I was intentionally late. Life happens, unfortunately, though this is not an excuse to be late.

To make matters worse, the next available appointment was not for 3 more months. So 8 minutes turned into 3 months. If my doctor has me scheduled for 3:30, then my appointment time should be listed on my portal as 3:15. Unfortunately, this is not how their system is setup. They really should fix it because it will greatly improve patient customer service. I am sure I am not the first or last patient to arrive late to my appointment.

So had I arrived at 3:30 on the dot and not 3:38, I would have been “on time” according to the clock but would have still been late for the doctor because of the time it takes to check in, etc. Doesn’t this all sound so petty? It’s because it is. This was not a job interview, it was a healthcare appointment and I am the patient. Doctors work hard and their time is precious, but they serve patients who are human and are doing their best. If your time becomes more important than my care, then I can only assume that you only care about money.

I would hate to see them do this same thing to an elderly person arriving 8 mins late who can’t even drive themselves to their own appointment and then has to wait for their ride to come back. I would hate to see them do this to a patient who barely made it out of bed because of chronic pain or a sick child. You see what I mean?

I liked my doctor but I don’t like poor communication and policies that put money before the care of the patient. The moral of the story is, don’t be late. Or better yet, find a more compassionate doctors office where 8 minutes won’t turn into 3 months.
